Small changes, lower bills.

A few tips we share on almost every visit.

88%+

Upgrade an old boiler

Modern condensing boilers turn more than 88% of their fuel into heat. An old one could be costing you hundreds a year.

1°C

Nudge the thermostat down

Turning your room thermostat down a single degree is one of the cheapest savings you can make.

Fit radiator valves

Thermostatic valves let you heat the rooms you use and turn down the ones you do not.

Fit a carbon monoxide alarm

An audible, battery operated alarm near every gas appliance. It costs little and could save a life.

Lag your pipes and cylinder

An insulation jacket on the hot water cylinder and lagged pipework stop heat leaking away before it reaches you.

Questions we get asked a lot.

Straight answers about servicing, safety and call-outs. For anything else, just call.

Call 020 7946 0721
How often should my boiler be serviced?

Once a year. Most manufacturers need an annual service by a Gas Safe registered engineer to keep the warranty valid. We service combi, system and conventional boilers of any make, and send you the service record afterwards.

What do landlords need to do for gas safety?

Get every gas appliance, fitting and flue checked by a Gas Safe registered engineer every 12 months, and give tenants a copy of the gas safety record within 28 days (new tenants before they move in). Our landlord package covers the annual check and record, a service of every gas appliance and one emergency call-out a year, for a single flat or a whole portfolio.

Do you do emergency call-outs?

Yes. Call us on 020 7946 0721 for a breakdown, a leak, or no heating or hot water, and we will get to you as quickly as we can, with common parts on the van so we can often fix it there and then. If you smell gas, call 0800 111 999 first.

What should I do if I smell gas?

Call the National Gas Emergency Service free on 0800 111 999, at any time, then open doors and windows, turn off the gas at the meter if you can, and do not use switches, electrics or naked flames. Once the gas network has made it safe, we can find and repair the fault and check your appliances.

How long does it take to replace a boiler?

Usually one to two days for a straight swap of a combi boiler; moving the boiler or changing the type of system takes longer. We visit first, recommend the right boiler for your home and confirm the timing in a written quote.

What is a power flush, and do I need one?

A power flush pumps cleaning chemicals through your heating system to clear out sludge and rust. It is usually worth it if radiators have cold spots, the boiler is noisy, or a new boiler is going onto an old system. We check your system first and only recommend a flush if it will make a real difference.

Are your engineers Gas Safe registered?

Yes. Every engineer who works on gas is Gas Safe registered, and you can check our registration on the Gas Safe Register website. We carry our Gas Safe ID cards on every visit, so you can check them at the door.
